Week of 12/11/17

Kindergarten


  • All sites- go to KDG tab at the top


1st Grade

  • MS Word Formatting: 
    • Open MS Word and Discuss the program with students
    • Discuss typing name on the computer- how do we capitalize, why do we have TWO shift keys?
    • Have students type their name in the program- first name only
    • Discuss selecting text (click, drag, let go)- talk about how you MUST select the text in order to make changes to it
    • Have students go to their seats and select their names
    • Demo: Bold, Italics, Underline, Text Size, Font, Text Color
    • After showing students the font buttons-- show them the Font Song
    • Circle the buttons on the screen to remind students what all buttons to click
    • Using their name: Have students choose a different font; change the font size to a larger size, change the font color, and then add a text effect (light blue A on the font menu)-- students will do this on their own at their seats
    • When finished, exit and don't save
    • Time remaining: students may open MS Word and "play" in the program

2nd Grade

  • Practice keyboarding 
  • Keyboard BINGO

3rd Grade

4th Grade

  • Login
  • Test Tools: Equation Editor
    • Using the EQ ED toolbar
    • Doing fractions, decimals on the EQ ED
    • Practice with a few sample problems: division, multiplication
    • Do 2-3 practice fraction problems
    • Show students how to use the coordinate grid (adding and drawing lines)- available on 4th grade test and 6th grade test (6th has XY grid)
    • Double box math equation boxes 

5th Grade
